What Future Sight shows
Future Sight reveals when an enemy will act and the expected result of that action. This is a turn-based system: you choose commands with information about what is approaching, then try to create a better outcome for your party.
The official forest-battle screenshot shows a horizontal action-order display with character and enemy portraits. Wade is taking a turn while upcoming enemy positions remain visible. The same screen includes his command list, HP, MP and a separate BP indicator. Those elements are useful context, but the screenshot does not explain the formula behind the timeline.

Three ways to answer a predicted attack
| Response | What it changes | What to look at |
|---|---|---|
| Prepare or defend | You take the upcoming attack into account when choosing your command. | The predicted result and the party’s condition. |
| Delay | An enemy action is pushed back. | When the enemy acts relative to your allies. |
| Cancel | An enemy action can be prevented entirely. | Whether your available command can stop that action. |
Marvelous explicitly describes delaying and cancelling enemy actions. It does not provide a universal interrupt chance, delay duration or list of attacks that cannot be stopped. A strong response in one preview battle is therefore not proof that the same command works against every enemy.
Reading the battle menu
The selected command in the screenshot is Slash. Its entry shows 0 BP, and the detail panel reads “1 Foe.” Resonant Edge is shown with 3 BP; Rend Armor with 5 MP; and Cleave with 4 MP. Guard is also visible. See the skills and battle commands table for a transcription of the readable entries.
The menu combines more than one resource type. Compare BP and MP as separate labels; do not treat one as a conversion of the other. The picture alone does not establish recovery rates, maximum values or whether the displayed costs are permanent across all builds.
A practical way to approach the system
- Read the approaching enemy action and its expected outcome.
- Check which ally can act before that event.
- Compare a defensive response with commands that can alter enemy timing.
- Check the command’s resource cost and target before committing.
This is a way to read the announced system, rather than a solved encounter strategy. Named boss patterns, optimal party compositions and repeatable turn sequences will depend on the released game. The available evidence already makes one distinction clear: Future Sight is useful because your commands can change the displayed future.
