Marti is a young naturalist in the past of Ambulis. Mayaca lives in its present, carrying the responsibilities of a Forest Guardian and the expectations attached to her ancestor. The official biography calls her Marti’s descendant; it does not specify the number of generations between them.

Adoption, friendship and biological descent are different relationships. Rubin’s role as Marti’s adoptive father does not establish a biological family line to Mayaca. Rose is described as growing up alongside Marti like a sister, rather than as his biological sister. Capuron’s place beside Mayaca in the present is a village connection, not an announced family relationship.
How legacy connects to gameplay
The announcement describes allies being empowered by the abilities of their ancestors. Separately, Wade’s Psychometry lets him inherit classes and abilities through memories held in artifacts. Together, these ideas connect the history of a place to your developing battle options.
The character biographies do not yet assign a specific artifact, class or skill unlock to the Marti–Mayaca relationship. Mayaca’s knowledge of herbs and prayer belongs to her published character description. Her battle class and the mechanics of these abilities have yet to be detailed.
